Volunteer Requirements

• Christian believer who will attend and participate in local Chinese church
• Native English speaker or otherwise approved
• Adult 18 years to 75, unless otherwise approved
• No Chinese language skills are needed
• Able to make and accept changes to daily schedule/flexible!
• Able to walk unaided at least a mile daily in hot, humid conditions
• Able to walk at least 4 flights of stairs multiple times daily
• Able to teach in non-air-conditioned classrooms for at least 3 hours each morning and 2 hours each afternoon.
• Cooperative and willing to be a “team player”
• Willing to prepare English lessons using the resources provided
• Able to arrange financial support for program costs, airfare and personal needs while in China
• Willing to obtain medical emergency insurance when directed
• Possess a passport that is valid for up to at least 6 months after the end of the assignment
• Complete and return an application and a simplified resume
